105 -111 - BAVA Celebrates Volunteers - Part Three

The Barrie Association of Volunteer Administrators (BAVA) recently celebrated volunteers through a photography exhibit at a local art centre.

The complexity of the problems the world faces reaffirms the power of volunteering as a way to mobilize people to address those challenges. As managers of volunteers, BAVA believes in the potential of people to make a difference and hopes the work inspires people to engage in volunteerism – to engage with their own knowledge and capacities and play an essential role as citizens shaping their own communities.

98 -104 - BAVA Celebrates Volunteers - Part Two

The Barrie Association of Volunteer Administrators (BAVA) recently celebrated volunteers through a photography exhibit at a local art centre.

The collection of photographs reveals the diversity of the volunteer work bveing accomplished. The hope is that the community viewing the photos come to better understand the value of volunteers and how deeply all our lives are touched by their contribution, that an awareness is raised of the efforts going on around us to better our lives and the lives of those we love.
